The meeting<\/strong><\/span>
\nI’d just started out on a walk in the forest,
\nwhen I saw someone coming towards me.
\nMy heart leapt when I recognized my youngest son
\n(I love this little guy so much…)<\/span>
\nHe didn\u2019t have to say anything,
\nI\u2019d already seen from the look on his face that something was up.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

– Hi pop, I\u2019ve just been to a birthday party…
\n– ouch! I understand, that can\u2019t have been easy…
\n– it\u2019s not that, pop! I just had an argument with my friend, that\u2019s all!<\/span><\/p>\n

I sat down with him on a step.
\nI was genuinely interested in what he had to tell me\u00a0(I listened just as carefully as I would have with an adult).<\/span>
\nI didn\u2019t bombard him with advice, I just listened attentively to him.<\/span><\/p>\n

– and then, pop, what\u2019s more, I\u2019ve got a really hard English test to hand in,
\nI have to stick photos of each member of my family and write something about them and\u2026and I don\u2019t know how\u2026
\n– don\u2019t worry precious, super pop is here!\u00a0(sometimes, I even believe it myself!)<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I went back home, turned on my PC and showed him exactly what he had to do, and he sat on my lap and got on with it.
\nIt would have been quicker for me to do it all myself,
\nbut\u00a0he wouldn\u2019t have learnt anything<\/strong>\u00a0and to tell you the truth, I like to make these\u00a0times we have together last<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The time we spend with those whom we love is never wasted,
\n(rather, it\u2019s always time we\u2019ve saved).<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Our work finished, we were as pleased with ourselves as a couple of Vikings who’d just finished a bit of pillaging and plundering!
\nWe toasted the occasion with a big glass of cordial and a manly \u2018cheers\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Early Fall\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>
\nI continued on my way, towards the forest.
\nWe really are right slap bang IN the masterpiece of the greatest Artist of them all.
\nThe elements are His tools, His rays of sun the multicolored palette from which he paints, these (His) last times: He doesn\u2019t hold back! He scatters a thousand joyous shades upon the trees, drawing them into a jubilant waltz around me,
\nall against a subtle backdrop of white mist that crowns Him the master poet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite his efforts, He is unable to take my mind off my worries,
\nmy head was a muddled mass of grown-up cares,
\nSo He decided to take another tack\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting<\/strong><\/span>
\nThen, someone came towards me along the path.
\nFrom afar He had already seen from the look on my face that something was up\u2026
\nIt was the Divine artist Himself:<\/span><\/p>\n
