Out of order!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The rays of the setting sun skim the roof tops, from apartment windows a warm light shines,
\nshadows stretch into infinity,
\nIn this magic moment, when the transition between day and night seems real enough to reach out and touch,
\nthe moon is already in position… oh… Lord, I love this time spent with you…<\/p>\n

You wouldn\u2019t know it, but tonight, I\u2019m out on a special ops mission… like a hunter full of confidence, I stalk the streets of my village. My weapon: a keen eye (my own, to boot)<\/span>,
\nAnd I\u2019ve a feeling I\u2019m going to be in luck in my quest to flush out my prey: a good DVD<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

However, when I get to the video distributor at the corner of the street, something strange happens…
\nI push the buttons and: NADA<\/strong>!?!
\n(arrggh! This is the only distributor in the whole area!!)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Both of us are disappointed!<\/strong>
\nA low, indifferent-sounding voice spoke behind me, confirming:
\n-“it\u2019s kaput all right!”<\/span>
\nWhat have we here? The distributor owner, looking pretty despondent:
\n– “It\u2019s a complete write-off, buddy, there\u2019s nothing to be done about it! And the repair guy won\u2019t be coming any time soon…”<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m really upset and disappointed, oh…not so much for the DVD,
\nBut because of something much more important<\/strong>:
\nBeing able to spend a nice evening in with a movie, my wife, <\/strong>my spouse, myself and Alain Auderset (like, a whole bunch of us…)<\/span>
\n-“No way! I\u2019ve got other plans for you!!”<\/span><\/p>\n

I place my two hands on the machine and in a commanding voice I say:<\/span><\/p>\n

-“In the name of Jesus Christ, work!!!<\/span><\/p>\n

I press the button and before the owner\u2019s astonished gaze
\nthe machine works and out pops the DVD I\u2019ve chosen.<\/span><\/p>\n

The distributor owner is open-mouthed in astonishment, caught in a world of confusion.
\nI get ready to go, as if nothing had happened, and to top it all
\nI toss out a casual goodbye:
\n– “Well, ok bud, have a nice evening!”<\/span><\/p>\n

(hee hee! Giving non-believers the shock of their lives – that\u2019s God\u2019s and my little game\u2026
\n(and He, in turn, has often played me at this game too, and won)<\/span>)<\/span><\/p>\n

Winning the<\/strong>lottery<\/span>! <\/strong>(yipes! unreal!)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The next day, I brought the DVD back to the store (the machine\u2019s out of order again)<\/span>
\nThe owner points at me and shouts out, in front of all his customers:<\/span><\/p>\n

– “There he is! That\u2019s him! That\u2019s the guy who talks to God!!”<\/span><\/p>\n

And one after the other, they ask me if I can help them win the lottery,
\npromising that they\u2019ll give half their winnings to the poor.
\nIt\u2019s like that scene in \u2018les mis\u00e9rables\u2019 (with Cosette in it, but the acting\u2019s not as good)<\/span>
\nThey entreat me, telling me how much happiness this would give them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, I\u2019m the one who\u2019s caught in a world of confusion…<\/span><\/p>\n

Having God as a friend is so much more than that!
\nWhy ask for so little!?<\/span><\/p>\n

ps.<\/strong>
\nSeek out THE healer<\/strong>, rather than the cure,
\nthe source<\/strong> of happiness, rather than happiness,
\nJesus <\/strong>instead of just His miracles.
\nGod<\/strong> instead of just His blessings<\/span><\/p>\n

Because everything is in Him<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
