{"id":2697,"date":"2019-03-14T13:28:33","date_gmt":"2019-03-14T11:28:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.auderset.com\/\/?p=2697"},"modified":"2019-03-14T15:34:24","modified_gmt":"2019-03-14T13:34:24","slug":"massacre-a-la-tronconeuse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.auderset.com\/en\/massacre-a-la-tronconeuse\/","title":{"rendered":"Chainsaw massacre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<address>\u00a0<\/address>\n<address>The greenery of almost translucent leaves, filtering the thousand different shades of the sun<\/address>\n<div>\n<address>created a magical atmosphere, a play of shadows and light upon the forest path that I took;<\/address>\n<address>The gentle rustling of the wind accompanies me in my discussions with God;<\/address>\n<address>The unmistakable odor of the wild ferns<br \/>\nclustered around the majestic, slender figures of age-old moss-covered trees,<br \/>\ngnarled as wise men of old.<\/address>\n<address>All are now gone &#8211;<br \/>\ntheir corpses strewn haphazardly upon the ground.<\/address>\n<address>A whole part of the forest has been razed,<br \/>\nmy secret little path along which I loved to walk with God has been stripped bare&#8230;<br \/>\nthe powerful scent of cut wood, normally so pleasant, sticks in my throat.<\/address>\n<address><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">No more prayer<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>This sorry spectacle, this carnage, unexpectedly brings back certain memories,<br \/>\nreopening old heart wounds,<br \/>\nit\u2019s as if the ground has been cut from under me\u00a0<span style=\"color: #888888;\">(that\u2019s funny, I don\u2019t think I\u2019m the only one in that situation here\u2026)<\/span><\/address>\n<address>I want to express all this to my God,<br \/>\nbut emotion has gripped me by the throat, choking me, my words are unable to escape, unable to reach Him,<br \/>\nI can\u2019t speak.<\/address>\n<address><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">A picture worth a thousand words<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>At this moment, I remembered the drawing that I did yesterday:<br \/>\nJesus tenderly gathering his sheep in His arms.<\/address>\n<address>&#8211; &#8220;Lord, I&#8230;<strong> that\u2019s<\/strong> what I wanted to pray!<br \/>\nI\u2019d like to be like those sheep.<\/address>\n<address>Instinctively, I open my Bible to follow on from where I&#8217;d been reading<\/address>\n<address><span style=\"color: #888888;\"> (not that I was the only one talking here)<\/span><br \/>\nand here are the exact words I read:<\/address>\n<address><em>&#8220;He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart&#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #888888;\">(Isaiah 40, verse 11)<\/span><\/em><\/address>\n<address>His response is so immediate, so fitting, it touches me deeply, all I can do is say&#8230;<strong>wow!<br \/>\n<\/strong>What a source of comfort I have in Jesus!<br \/>\nyet so few people are aware of it&#8230;<br \/>\nhowever, I won\u2019t forget them &#8211;<br \/>\nThe forest is a large one and I plunge into it with Him<br \/>\nin search of new paths, new wonders.<br \/>\nWhen I get out,<br \/>\nboth of us will be ready to face this savage world.<\/address>\n<address>Alain<\/address>\n<\/div>\n<address>\u00a0<\/address>\n<div>\n<address><a href=\"http:\/\/www.auderset.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/m-famille-us-ok1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"m famille us ok\" src=\"http:\/\/www.auderset.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/m-famille-us-ok1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"319\" \/><\/a><\/address>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 The greenery of almost translucent leaves, filtering the thousand different shades of the sun created a magical atmosphere, a play of shadows and light upon the forest path that I took;
