Mission impossible\"\"<\/span><\/strong>
\nRight under my comic-writing workshop
\nis a cellar filled with soil <\/span>(in some places it reaches the ceiling)<\/span>
\nI’m digging in there with all my might with a pickaxe,
\nshovel and wheelbarrow.<\/span><\/p>\n

The plan is to make a music room.<\/span><\/p>\n

This makes me think of the huge scale of the task I set myself
\nwhen I want to reach “Mr Everyman” with the gospel through my comic books<\/span>
\n(or to give my testimony on CNN, or become friends with the Chinese emperor,
\nor harder still, to convince my wife what\u2019s the point of football)<\/span><\/p>\n

Everyday faithfulness\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong>
\nTo be honest, I\u2019m not making much progress,
\nbut I keep digging for 1 or 2 hours without fail every day – I\u2019ll get there in the end!<\/span><\/p>\n

Strangely enough, I even look forward to sweating it out during these moments of hard work, because I can listen to the Bible on my mp3-player,
\nthese are special moments of intimacy with my heavenly Father*<\/strong>.<\/span>
\n(*by “father” I mean God, because my “earthly” father doesn’t know how to fly yet)<\/span><\/p>\n

The little workman<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe other day, my little Benjamin \u2013he\u2019s just turned 8-
\nDecided he was going to help me – he was really determined about it.
\nThis little fellow is really pleased to be able to work alongside me and chat.
\nWe have wheelbarrow races<\/span> (he always wins!)<\/span>
\nBenjamin, he means pure happiness to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Too small<\/span><\/strong>
\nJust one shovelful from Dad makes his small wooden wheelbarrow overflow!
\nHe stopped for a moment and noticed that I put a lot
\nmore into my wheelbarrow\u00a0 than he did in his.
\nHe tried to impress me by wheeling my barrow.
\n\"\"After a massive effort, all he managed to do was to knock it over.<\/span><\/p>\n

My little man was disappointed:
\n– “Oh Dad! It\u2019s no use, I\u2019m not helping – my wheelbarrow is so small that we\u2019ll never finish”<\/span><\/p>\n

I stopped, knelt down and looked at him with love:
\n– “Benjamin, what matters to me is not finishing the work as quickly as possible,
\nbut just to do it with you.”
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

What Dad loves,
\nis to be with you.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n
