The incredible visit

It was around two years ago,

I was drawing in my workshop far from Hollywood

(so far, it’s in the swiss Jura!)

when I received a really surprising visit…

(here is what happens when we pray too much!)

Two head masters of a famous cartoon studio were standing right in front of me.

They were working for the general public TV for more than 10 years,

But something touched them while they were reading my comic strips, and they told me:

-“This is what everybody needs today!

Would you be alright if we could make a cartoon out of it?”
I said yes

And they litteraly left their studio in order to create a new one : www.moondog-animation.com

The aim is that my character Willy Grunch may be on every TV (France, USA, etc…)

And that we could communicate principles that are dear to me.
Moondog is looking for one hundred thousands dollars (oh my!)

To get out the 5 first episodes of the series.

They will then have enough to present to the TV’s

Who will be required to buy them for they are really great.

It’s a new adventure starting

And I am clinging to my Lord’s hand, because those figures are beyond me.

The amount of people we are going to achieve (we are talking of millions of people!), but also the costs
Take part to this adventure

If everyone participate

It’s possible, there are only 11 days left to get over it…

But already more than 45'000$ pledged.

Mon Univers BD en dessin-animé
 
L'incroyable visite
Il y a environ deux ans de ça,
J'étais en train de dessiner dans mon atelier loin d'Hollywood
(tellement, que c'est dans le Jura-Suisse!)
quand j’ai reçu une bien étonnante visite...
(voilà ce qui arrive quand ont prie trop!)
Deux directeurs d'un studio de dessin-animé de renom se tenaient devant moi.
Plus de 10 ans qu'ils travaillent pour la télé grand public,
mais quelque chose les a touché en lisant mes BD, ils m'ont dit:
- « c'est ça que le monde à besoin aujourd'hui!
Tu serais ok qu'on en fasse un dessin-animé?»
 
j'ai dit oui
et ils ont carrément quitté leur studio pour en crée un nouveau: www.moondog-animation.com
Le but est que mon personnage Willy Grunch soit sur toutes les TV (France, USA, etc...)
et que l'on puisse communiquer des valeurs qui me sont chères.
 
Moondog cherche cent mille dollars (rien que ça!),
pour sortir les 5 premiers épisodes de la série.
Ils auront alors de quoi présenter aux TV
qui vont être obligées de les acheter tellement c'est bien.
C'est une nouvelle aventure qui commence
et je m'accroche à la main de mon Seigneur, car pour moi c'est des chiffres qui me dépassent...
Le nombre de personnes que l'on va atteindre (on parle de millions de personnes!), mais aussi les frais)

Der unglaubliche Besuch

Vor ungefähr zwei Jahren,

ich war gerade in meinem Atelier weit weg von Hollywood am zeichnen

(so weit weg dass es sich im Schweizer Jura befindet),

da habe ich überraschenden Besuch erhalten...

Zwei Direktoren eines renommierten Animationsfilm-Studios standen vor mir.

Sie arbeiteten schon mehr als 10 Jahre für grosse TV-Stationen,

und irgend etwas hat sie berührt als sie meine Comics gelesen haben.

Sie sagten mir:

- " das ist es, was die Welt heute braucht! Wäre es Dir recht, wenn wir daraus einen Animationsfilm machen?"
Ich habe Ja gesagt

Und die beiden haben ihr Studio verlassen um ein neues zu gründen: www.moondog-animation.com

Das Ziel ist, dass meine Figur Willy Grunch auf allen  möglichen TV-Sendern zu sehen ist (Frankreich, USA, etc...)

und dass wir damit die Werte vermitteln können, die mir wichtig sind.

Moondog startete daraufhin ein Fundraising-Projekt bei kickstarter.com, um $99'999.- zu sammeln und damit die ersten 5 Episoden der Serie herausbringen zu können.

Diese wollen sie anschliessend den TV Stationen präsentieren, welche die Serie kaufen werden müssen, weil sie so gut wird.

Dies ist ein neues Abenteuer und ich gebe mich ganz in die Hand des Herrn, denn das sind für mich Zahlen, die meinen Horizont übersteigen... Sowohl die Zahl der Personen die wir erreichen werden können (wie sprechen von millionen von Leuten!), als auch die Höhe der Kosten. PS: die Animationsfilme sind ohne Dialog und können somit über alle Sprachgrenzen hinweg verstanden und verbreitet werden!
Herausforderung 1

Wir haben es geschafft!

Das gesetzte Ziel von $ 99'999.- wurde sogar noch übertroffen: $ 116'000.-

Dies ist die zweitgrösste Spendensumme, die weltweit je via Internet für einen Animationsfilm gesammelt wurde!

Unzählige Personen haben sich beteiligt und haben für das Projekt gesammelt, gebetet und dafür Werbung gemacht.

Wenn man nun zu mir sagt:

- " Gratulation, Alain! "

So antworte ich:

- " Nicht mir müsst ihr gratulieren, sondern vielmehr jedem einzelnen von euch... "

Vielen Dank dass ihr gezeigt habt, dass wir alle Teil einer grossen Familie sind, die sich gegenseitig unterstützt und in einzigartiger Weise mobilisiert.

Herausforderung 2

Der Kampf beginnt

- "Na, Alain, bist Du nun reich?"

- "Äh... nein, von dem Geld sehe ich keinen Rappen, es wird direkt ins Salär einer super professionellen Animations-Truppe investiert.

Unter ihnen ist sogar einer, der als Animator bei Pixar tätig war.

Also, uns stehen mehrere Monate Schweiss und Arbeit für 6 Animationsfilme von je 2 min bevor.

Herausforderung 3

Die Serie mit Hilfe der kurzen Müsterchen den grossen TV-Stationen schmackhaft machen

(TF1, Cartoon, M6, BBC, etc.).

Für jemanden aus dem christlichen Millieu eine grosse Premiere...

Deshalb: wir sind weiterhin auf eure Unterstützung im Gebet angewiesen.

Mi universo del cómic en dibujo animado

La visita increíble.

Hace dos años, yo estaba dibujando en mi taller lejos de Hollywood (tan lejos, ya que se encuentra en el Jura-Suizo) cuando recibí una visita sorprendente… (¡he aquí lo que pasa cuando uno ora demasiado!). Dos directores de un estudio de animación famoso estaban delante de mí. Hace más de diez años que trabajan para la tele gran público, pero algo les conmovió cuando leyeron mis cómics. Me dijeron: 

“¡Esto es lo que el mundo necesita ahora! ¿Te gustaría que hiciéramos un dibujo animado de ellos?

Dije que sí.

Y dejaron su estudio para crear otro nuevo : www.moondog-animation.com
El propósito es mi personaje Willy Grunch esté en todas las teles (Francia, Estados-Unidos, etc.) y que podamos comunicar valores que son fundamentales para mí.
Moondog busca cien mil dólares (¡nada más que esto!) para sacar los primeros cinco episodios de la temporada. Así tendrán lo suficiente como para presentarlo a las televisiones que necesariamente tendrán que comprarlos por lo bueno que es.
Es una nueva aventura la que empieza y me agarro a la mano a mi Señor, pues para mí, son cifras que me superan…
 El número de personas a las que vamos a alcanzar (se habla de millones de personas!), pero también los gastos.

The rays of the setting sun skim the roof tops, from apartment windows a warm light shines,
shadows stretch into infinity,
In this magic moment, when the transition between day and night seems real enough to reach out and touch,
the moon is already in position... oh... Lord, I love this time spent with you...

You wouldn’t know it, but tonight, I’m out on a special ops mission... like a hunter full of confidence, I stalk the streets of my village. My weapon: a keen eye (my own, to boot),
And I’ve a feeling I’m going to be in luck in my quest to flush out my prey: a good DVD.

However, when I get to the video distributor at the corner of the street, something strange happens...
I push the buttons and: NADA!?!
(arrggh! This is the only distributor in the whole area!!)

Both of us are disappointed!
A low, indifferent-sounding voice spoke behind me, confirming:
-"it’s kaput all right!"
What have we here? The distributor owner, looking pretty despondent:
- "It’s a complete write-off, buddy, there’s nothing to be done about it! And the repair guy won’t be coming any time soon..."

I’m really upset and disappointed, oh...not so much for the DVD,
But because of something much more important:
Being able to spend a nice evening in with a movie, my wife, my spouse, myself and Alain Auderset (like, a whole bunch of us...)
-"No way! I’ve got other plans for you!!"

I place my two hands on the machine and in a commanding voice I say:

-"In the name of Jesus Christ, work!!!

I press the button and before the owner’s astonished gaze
the machine works and out pops the DVD I’ve chosen.

The distributor owner is open-mouthed in astonishment, caught in a world of confusion.
I get ready to go, as if nothing had happened, and to top it all
I toss out a casual goodbye:
- "Well, ok bud, have a nice evening!"

(hee hee! Giving non-believers the shock of their lives - that’s God’s and my little game…
(and He, in turn, has often played me at this game too, and won))

Winning thelottery! (yipes! unreal!)

The next day, I brought the DVD back to the store (the machine’s out of order again)
The owner points at me and shouts out, in front of all his customers:

- "There he is! That’s him! That’s the guy who talks to God!!"

And one after the other, they ask me if I can help them win the lottery,
promising that they’ll give half their winnings to the poor.
It’s like that scene in ‘les misérables’ (with Cosette in it, but the acting’s not as good)
They entreat me, telling me how much happiness this would give them.

Now, I’m the one who’s caught in a world of confusion...

Having God as a friend is so much more than that!
Why ask for so little!?

ps.
Seek out THE healer, rather than the cure,
the source of happiness, rather than happiness,
Jesus instead of just His miracles.
God instead of just His blessings

Because everything is in Him.

Le soleil couchant rasant les toits, la lumière chaleureuse émanant des fenêtres d'appartements, les interminables ombres portées, cet instant magique au moment du passage sensible entre le jour et la nuit, la lune déjà en place... ha... Seigneur que j'aime ce moment avec toi...

On ne dirait pas, mais ce soir, je suis en mission commando...tel un chasseur sûr de son coup, j'arpente les rues de mon village. Je suis armé d'un œil avisé (le mien en plus), et je me sens en veine pour débusquer ma proie: une bonne vidéo.

Mais une fois arrivé au distributeur automatique du coin de la rue quelque chose d'étrange se produit... je presse les boutons et : RIEN!?!
(argl! c le seul fournisseur de la région!!)

Les deux déçus !
Une voix blasée au ton grave surgit derrière mon dos et confirme :
-"il est mort!"

Tiens? le proprio de l'appareil, il a l'air dépité:
- "C'est la totale mon gars, y 'a rien à faire! et le dépanneur n'est pas prêt de venir..."

Je suis trop contrarié, désenchanté, oh...pas tant pour la vidéo, mais pour quelque chose de bien plus précieux:
passer une soirée ciné sympa avec ma femme, mon épouse, moi-même et Alain Auderset (plein de monde quoi...)
- "ha non alors! Ça ne se passera pas comme ça!!"

J'impose mes deux mains sur la machine et avec autorité lui ordonne:

- "Au nom de Jésus-Christ, tu remarches!!!

Je presse le bouton et devant les yeux écarquillés du proprio,
la machine remarche et me livre la vidéo choisie.

Le proprio est bouche bée, paralysé dans un abime de perplexité.
L'air de rien, je m'en vais, et histoire de le finir définitivement,
je lui jette un nonchalant:

- "Bon bin, salut man, bonne soirée! "

(hi!hi! Traumatiser de l'incrédule, c notre petit kiff avec Dieu...
(et Lui, Il m'a souvent à ce petit jeux))

Gagner à la loterie! (purée! Dingue!)
Le lendemain, alors que je ramène la vidéo au magasin (la machine est à nouveau out)
le propriétaire s'écrie devant tout les clients en me pointant du doigt:

- "Le voilà! c'est lui! C'est le gars qui parle avec Dieu!!"

Et les uns après les autres de me demander de pouvoir gagner à la loterie,
me promettant de donner la moitié aux pauvres,
rejouant la scène des misérables («Cosette » en moins bien)
m'expliquant avec force combien leur bonheur en dépend.

Et maintenant, c'est moi qui suis paralysé dans un abime de perplexité...

Avoir Dieu pour ami, c'est tellement plus !
pourquoi en demander si peu!?

ps.
Cherchez LE guérisseur, plutôt que la guérison,
la source de la joie plutôt que la joie, 
Jésus plutôt que ses miracles. 
Dieu plutôt que ses bénédictions

Car tout est en Lui.
